What is the Makerspace?

The Makerspace in Al Zeina provides an open-access, DIY workshop, prototyping lab and fabrication studio, creating a home for innovation and entrepreneurship, STEAM education and a platform for academia and industry. The space builds a vibrant, community-based space that provides members the access to tools, software and space where entrepreneurs, inventors, innovators, makers, businesses, teachers and students can come together to learn and work.

The space provides access to professional equipment and software and a wide variety of machinery and tools including milling machines, lathes, MIG and TIG welding stations, sheet metal working equipment, drill presses, band saws, industrial sewing machines, hand tools, wood working equipment including a wood CNC router, electronics design, testing and fabrication equipment, vacuum forming, CO2 laser cutters, powder coating equipment, 3D printers (FDM), silk screening and vinyl cutting and the design software needed to run it all. Pretty much everything you'd ever need, to make just about anything.

Front Desk Staff
(part-time)


Our Front Desk Staff is our first point of contact! You’ll greet members, students and customers when they enter the lobby and help plant the seed of thought that grows into their understanding of how Makerspace Abu Dhabi works for them. You’ll also answer general shop questions, assist in enforcing Makerspace Abu Dhabi rules and policies, make equipment reservations for members, prepare class materials for instructors (for our wide variety of classes held daily) and process payments for membership, classes and retail sales.

  • First class customer service
  • Handle sales activities for makerspace services
  • Manage the makerspace retail shop
  • Centralised support for all makerspace departments
